Wow knew the struggle would be so real?
When I started crafting at events, I started out helping my aunt who already had the events lined up. Half of the events I helped her with I had no idea even existed! As time went on, she encouraged me to stretch out on my own and attend events as my own vendor. Thus the search began.
I started with google and then branched out to local newspapers and word of mouth. But I was missing one key ingredient to success.
Application due dates.
I had no idea craft shows required applications almost a full year ahead of the actual event! That was crazy to me. But the more I researched the more I realized I had to start planning for events at least a year ahead of time. And I had to make sure all my craft show applications were completed and done during the busiest time of the year: December.
Why December you ask? Well, it turns out not only are application due dates important, but if you’re a new vendor (i.e. never done that event before) the earlier you get your application in the more likely you will be accepted into the show. Turns out getting into craft show is highly competitive. But don’t let that scare you. You now have a tool to better organize and prepare yourself.
Without further ado, here is the list of 2017 Western New York Craft Show/Events by the actual event date.
*If I can’t find the App Due Date I will simply write Jan 1, just to be sure you have enough time to get it in if you are interested. Also note that these dues dates for the events are roughly the same every year. So you can use these dates to prepare for next year.
